At the top — surrounded by silence, sky, and stone — we pause for a moment of reward: a mountain-style appetizer with homemade delicacies, to celebrate the journey.

It’s a full-day hike, designed for active travelers seeking altitude, scenery, and the satisfaction of reaching a summit — without technical difficulty, but with the thrill of true adventure.

    What makes this hike special?

It’s not just about reaching the summit — it’s the feeling of slowing down, breathing the mountain air, and discovering nature at your own pace. A walk through silence, wide-open landscapes, and history.

This hike is ideal if you’re looking for a moderate challenge:

    • 9 km round trip with a positive elevation gain of 530 meters.

It’s suitable for people in good physical condition, even without previous hiking experience.

After reaching the 2,955 masl summit — and taking in the panoramic views — we’ll pause to share a traditional picada: homemade bread, local cheese, salami, and natural spring water, enjoyed at the top of the Andes.

This is a moment to rest, take in the views, and connect with the mountain — no rush, no noise, just nature and good company.

“Spectacular service, from the moment you arrive until you leave! Everyone was very friendly and helpful, an unbeatable ride and such kindness that is hard to find anywhere else! Undoubtedly a tour to repeat once and a thousand times!”

    • Winter add-ons: insulated jacket, buff or scarf, liner gloves, and beanie.

    • Sun protection: sunscreen and sunglasses.

Do I need to have experience in hiking?

No prior hiking experience is required. However, this is a medium-intensity hike, so it’s important to be in good physical condition and have some level of regular physical or sports activity.

The trail is not technical, but it does include 530 meters of elevation gain and uneven terrain.

What is the local weather like?

The climate in the Andes is cooler and more unpredictable than in Mendoza city. Even in summer, it can feel cold at high altitude — especially in the early morning or on cloudy days.

From May to September (Southern Hemisphere winter), temperatures can drop below freezing and snowfall is possible. Warm clothing and all recommended gear are essential to stay comfortable.

No matter the season, we recommend dressing in layers. It’s better to have extra clothing in the car than to miss part of the experience because of the cold.
