What makes the Sunset Ride truly special?
This is more than a sunset ride – it’s a serene retreat to mountain life. As the light softens, we ride horseback on trails at high elevation, surrounded by panoramic views of the Andes.
Midway through, we stop to share a traditional picada: salami and cheese with fresh-baked bread accompanied by wine and anecdotes as the sun goes down behind the mountaintop.
And if you’re willing to go the whole way, you can round out the feast with a full asado — open-air fire-grilled beef, just as on our full-day adventure.
The journey is serene, the scenery untamed, and the bond authentic — a moment of quietude, tradition, and loveliness in the evening hours.

What makes the Sunset Ride so unique?
It’s more than the scenery — it’s about the ambiance.
As the sun sets, you’ll glide through golden hues and mountain stillness, accompanied by someone from the Don Daniel family.
We’ll welcome you on the post — a serene mountain ranch at an elevation of 2,400 meters — and prepare the horses as you get settled. On the trail itself, the landscape unfolds: valleys, creeks, and far-off peaks aglow with sunset.
Halfway through the trip, we make a stop at a scenic spot to enjoy a traditional picada — homemade bread, cheese and salami — accompanied by Mendoza wine and generations-old stories.
The ride takes around two hours and is paced to allow you to absorb it all. It is not rushed — it’s an invitation to slow down, take in the scenery, and share a slice of gaucho life.
Excellent experience! Daniel is super friendly and cordial. The salami he prepares himself is spectacular. The animals are very well cared for, it is very easy to ride them even without experience.
Incredible landscapes, definitely 100% recommended. Thank you Daniel!

-
Extras: sunscreen and sunglasses.
Note: Since we ride in the Andes, the weather is cooler than in the city and can change quickly. Dressing in layers is the best way to stay comfortable throughout the experience.
Do I need to have riding experience?
No previous experience is required. Our horses are calm, sure-footed, and used to the mountain terrain.
That said, this is a real horseback ride — not a flat tourist stroll. You don’t need to be a rider, but it’s important to feel comfortable around horses and not suffer from vertigo, as we’ll ride along mountain trails.
The pace is relaxed, and you’ll be guided at all times by someone from our family, experienced in both riding and leading groups.
What is the local weather like?
The climate in the Andes is cooler and more unpredictable than in Mendoza city. Even in summer, it can feel cold at high altitude — especially in the late afternoon or on cloudy days.
From May to September (Southern Hemisphere winter), temperatures can drop below freezing and snowfall is possible. Warm clothing and all recommended gear are essential to stay comfortable.
No matter the season, we recommend dressing in layers. It’s better to have extra clothing in your saddlebag than to miss part of the experience because of the cold.
What is the minimum number of people to book?
This experience requires a minimum of two people. If you’re traveling solo, contact us and we’ll try to match you with another group.
